For grown-ups
This lesson practises numbers 0 to 10, making ten, and simple adding and taking away. Children use dots first. Number sentences come after. It takes about 8 to 12 minutes. Stopping part-way is fine.
Clues
More clues shows a running count under the tray and puts counting numbers on the counters after a try. Fewer clues hides the running count until the child presses Check, so they count for themselves. The Hint button works in both. Switch at any time with the Clues button. Neither setting is a level or a grade.
Read aloud
Tap a speaker button to hear the words. Turn on Read aloud to hear new instructions automatically after each tap. It uses your browser's built-in voice. All words stay on screen.
Keyboard
Tab moves between controls. In a tray, arrow keys move between pots. Enter or Space adds or removes. The + and - keys add or take one.
Saved progress

Playing together
- Ask "How did you know?" after a correct answer.
- Before pressing Check, ask the child to predict how many empty pots there are.
- After a story, make up your own story with the same numbers.
